Why didn't Fordson adopt the PTO?

The John Deere Model Ds were about the same configuration as the Fordson Model Fs. Why did they not have a problem with going over backwards?

[James Peck] The October 2018 issue of Ageless Iron had an article about "Origins of the PTO". This claims the US bought IHC 15-30s, JD Ds, and Fordsons equipped with PTOs as part of a government program to eradicate the corn borer.

What is amazing that while IH and JD started offering PTOs as an option, Fordson lagged behind.

Mahindra Roxor

The November 4, 2017 issue of the Detroit Times contains an article about the Mahindra plans to build an assembly plant in a Pontiac suburb. Mahindra currently has an office building near the intersection of Crooks and I-75 in Troy Michigan.

Mahindra got its start assembling International Harvester tractors in India and then Jeeps They compete directly with John Deere in the US suburban tractor market and their red tractor ads often feature a classic Deere. It is often disappointing to me to focus in on a red tractor hoping to see a Massey Ferguson and instead see a Mahindra.

Back when Chrysler and GM were being bailed out in the Great Recession, auto dealers were having their franchises pulled. Mahindra claimed they were going to start selling Mahindra pickups in the US and signed up a bunch of dealers. That was vaporware.

One thing I did learn was that Mahindra already builds electric bicycles and motor cycles in Ann Arbor. Apparently, the question is what exactly Mahindra is going to manufacture in Auburn Hills. Auburn Hills is where the former Chrysler (now FCA) headquarters are and is roughly East of Pontiac.
